Martha Farrell Foundation had facilitated a 3 day workshop on Gender in collaboration with our local partner Rubaroo in AV College. The workshop saw the participation of 55 youth (25 Boys, 30 Girls). Yashvi Sharma from Martha Farrell Foundation and sports trainer Akash Thapa from ProSport Development delivered the sessions for 3 days.
This three-day workshop introduced the KBC youth leaders to concepts of gender, inequality, discrimination and violence against women and girls through various activities that make use of sports, theatre, visual media and art.
The training focussed on:
●developing an understanding on the social construct of gender.
●identify and understand prevalent gender stereotypes in public and private spheres and the harmful impact of these stereotypes.
●identify the different types of violence against women and girls and how they relate to unequal gender relations.
